Joseph Scheidler, National Director of Pro-Life Action League at Stand Up for Religious Freedom rally in Chicago, talks about his opposition to the Health and Human Services (HHS) mandates of the Affordable Care Act (ACA aka "Obamacare")

In 2006 Mr. Scheidler was found Not Guilty of violations of RICO and the Hobbs Act for acts of violence and extortion against abortion clinics and health care providers in a famous case, NOW vs Scheidler, that took 16 years to make it to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Court held that the Hobbs Act did not cover violence unrelated to robbery or extortion. The Court also noted that Congress's 1994 passage of FACE indicated that Congress did not view RICO as pertaining to this area.*
